Stockton State Park is a beautiful place to enjoy nature. The park offers several trails for your enjoyment.

The Umber Ridge Trail is a great place to experience the beauty of nature. In fact, you're likely to spot some wildlife (think deer, turkeys, rabbits, birds, and more)! The trail is 1.75 miles with natural terrain.

The park is also home to the .5 mile Nyblad Trail - perfect for a quick hike. This trail runs between the East and West campgrounds.

LAKEVIEW TRAIL (Grand Opening May 17, 2014)

The new Lakeview Trail is 8 miles long. The trailhead is located on County Road 2000, which is the road leading to the marina/campground.

WATER TRAIL (Grand Opening May 17, 2014)

Our newest addition to the park is the beautiful water trail. At just over 6.5 miles, the water trail is perfect for kayaking or canoeing. Need a kayak/canoe? The marina offers rentals (417-287-5329).

Check out this wonderful article about the Water Trail.

Don't forget to log your 100 Missouri Miles when you hike or paddle one of our trails!

Want to get involved with our trail initiative? Here are a few ways to help:
  • Participate in the annual "Havin' A Crappie Day 5k/Mile" held at the park each April. - all proceeds from the race go to our trail initiative. Proceeds from this race have helped with the Umber Ridge Trail as well as to produce trail maps and help with trail workday needs.
  • Become a sponsor of the annual "Havin' A Crappie Day 5k/Mile" - your support allows us to produce a bigger and better event, allowing us to raise additional funds for our trail system. Plus, we will recognize you on our race shirts, website, social media sites, and on race day. We want our participants to know you support our cause!
  • Help with a trail workday. Please call the park office at 417-276-4259 for more information including dates and other ways to get involved.
  • Get involved with the Stockton Trails Initiative Coalition (STIC). This organization promotes trails around the lake, not just within the park.
We appreciate your support as we strive to make Stockton State Park a place where families can enjoy the beauty of nature.
